Water control structure repair

Background
The Salt Fork Wildlife Area in Ohio is seeking a contractor to replace two water control structures and backfill embankment with type D rip-rap. The project also includes various other objectives such as vegetation removal, keyway repair, spillway widening, dredging, and installation of a beaver exclusion device.

Work Details
The project involves the removal and disposal of two existing water control stoplog structures and associated pipe, followed by the installation of a concrete custom-built catch basin water control structure and 60-feet of 48-inch ADS N-12 Dual Wall HDPE pipe. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for sufficient backfilling of trenches, reshaping of dike slopes, and placement of riprap armor (Type “D”) on the interior and exterior dike slopes around the control structure.
Other tasks include woody vegetation removal, keyway repair, spillway widening, dredging, and installation of a beaver exclusion device.
The contractor must also ensure site cleanup and removal of debris at the end of each day.

Period of Performance
The work must be completed between July 1, 2024, and September 15, 2024.

Place of Performance
The project area is located in the Salt Fork Wildlife Area in Guernsey County, Ohio. The work site is in the southwestern corner of Wills Township with access directly at Fairgrounds Road for the Duck Unit work site.
