The City of Cincinnati is seeking bids from qualified contractors for a term contract to provide voice and data communication cabling services at various City facilities. Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to install, test, and certify low voltage cabling for indoor communications systems including voice (telephone), data (network Ethernet), video (CCTV, AV), access control/security, and wireless access points. Installations must comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), TIA/EIA standards (e.g., TIA-568, TIA-569, TIA-606), BICSI guidelines, City of Cincinnati Building and Fire Codes, applicable sections of CMC Chapter 321, and the City's IT standards.
Specific requirements include:
1. **Cable Types**: Category 6A UTP cable for all data applications; plenum-rated where required by code; third-party verified cables.
2. **Pathways and Supports**: Installation of cable trays, J-hooks, conduits as required.
3. **Patch Panels & Terminations**: Standard 19" rack-mounted patch panels compatible with Category 6A.
4. **Testing**: 100% of installed cabling must be tested using a Level III or better field tester with specific tests outlined.
5. **Clean-up**: Protect cabling during construction and ensure all areas are clean post-installation.
Period of Performance
The contract period will begin on the effective start date and will last for three years.
