Shillitos West Asbestos Abatement

Background
The City of Cincinnati is issuing this solicitation for the abatement of asbestos-containing materials from the Shillito’s West Building, located at 137 W. 7th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe removal and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with local and state regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the abatement of asbestos-containing materials, which includes flooring materials (tile, mastic, carpet) and light heat shields. The scope of work also encompasses disposal of these materials, payment of permit fees, and conducting necessary inspections.

All work must adhere to specified guidelines outlined in attached documents including Wage Determination and Contractor Affidavits, Shillitos Supplemental Flooring Report, Asbestos Abatement Specifications, and Non-Structural Tenant Improvements.

Period of Performance
The contractor is required to achieve substantial completion of the on-site work within ninety (90) calendar days from the date of receipt of the notice to proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Shillito’s West Building located at 137 W. 7th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with M/WBE subcontracting inclusion goals of 10% MBE and 15% WBE as per City of Cincinnati Municipal Code Chapter 324. Bidders are required to submit a Bid Bond or certified check amounting to at least ten percent (10%) of their total bid as a guarantee for contract execution upon award.

Additionally, bidders must provide proof of insurance coverage including Workers' Compensation and General Liability insurance.
