Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide comprehensive preventative maintenance and repair services for various Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS). The goal of this contract is to ensure that all EPSS are maintained according to manufacturer recommendations, ensuring reliable operation during emergencies. This initiative aligns with BGSU's commitment to maintaining operational readiness and safety across its facilities.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following services:
1. **Semi-Annual Preventative Maintenance**: This includes tasks such as checking battery systems, inspecting fuel lines, verifying coolant levels, and conducting engine checks. Specific tasks include:
- Battery and Battery Charger System checks (e.g., testing electrolyte levels, checking voltage dip during cranking).
- Fuel System inspections (e.g., checking for leaks, inspecting fuel pumps).
- Coolant System evaluations (e.g., testing freeze points, verifying hose conditions).
- Engine assessments (e.g., verifying oil levels, testing safety shutdown circuits).
- Generator and Voltage Regulator inspections (e.g., lubricating bearings, checking connections).

2. **Annual Preventative Maintenance**: In addition to semi-annual tasks, this includes replacing filters and conducting load bank testing on non-spark-ignited generators.

4. **Rental of Emergency Generators**: If repairs require a rental generator, the contractor will assist in procuring one until the original generator is operational again.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence on August 1, 2026, following the proposal review process which concludes in July 2026. The first semi-annual preventative maintenance visit is scheduled during BGSU’s winter break in December 2026 – January 2027.
