The City of Columbus is accepting Bids for the installation of approximately 970 LF of bollard and cable at Rhodes Park, installation to include labor and all accessories needed to complete the installation, in accordance with the scope of services set forth in this Invitation for Bid (IFB). WHERE & WHEN TO SUBMIT BID Bids will be received by the City of Columbus, Department of Recreation & Parks, Park Maintenance Section, until October 31st, 2024 at 2:00 pm local time. The bid should be emailed to David Stearns at dastearns@columbus.gov with the subject stating, Rhodes Park Bollard Improvements Bid Company Name . SCHEDULE The Contractor must perform all work within 60 days of receiving a notice to proceed. Weekend work is not permitted. QUESTIONS Questions regarding the IFB should be submitted to David Stearns, City of Columbus, Park Maintenance, via email dastearns@columbus.gov prior to October 24th, 2024 at 2:00 pm local time.
Background
The City of Columbus is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the installation of bollards and cable at Rhodes Park. The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department (CRPD) aims to enhance park safety and aesthetics through this project, which involves significant labor and materials to complete the installation in accordance with specified guidelines.

Work Details
The project includes the installation of approximately 970 linear feet (LF) of bollard and cable. The contractor will provide all necessary labor, equipment, concrete, 3/8” galvanized cable, yellow PVC pipe, and hardware required for the installation. Specific tasks include:

- Installation of all bollards, cable, and sleeves per provided installation guidelines/specifications.
- Use of wooden 6”x 6” x 6’ rough sawn bollards provided by CRPD.
- Addition of a 4’ long piece of yellow PVC pipe on each piece of cable between posts.
- Installation must ensure no buried services are impacted.
- Lawn areas disturbed during work must be graded, seeded (RTF), and straw applied accordingly.
- Spoils from drilling holes for bollards will be disposed off-site if necessary; excess dirt will not be spread onsite.
- Coordination with the CRPD project manager to avoid scheduling conflicts with park activities is required.
- The park must be returned to pre-installation condition, including removing excess soil, grading, cleaning hard surfaces, and repairing any damaged asphalt.

Period of Performance
The contractor must complete all work within 60 days from receiving a notice to proceed. Weekend work is not permitted.

The work will be performed at Rhodes Park located at 1900 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio.
