Request For Proposals -Miami County Historical Display

Background
The Board of Miami County Commissioners, on behalf of the Miami County Maintenance and Facilities Department, is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to select a vendor with a proven record in planning, design, fabrication, delivery, implementation, installation, and support of museum-quality historical displays or interpretive exhibits.
The goal is to enhance public experience and celebrate Miami County's rich history through the creation and installation of a historical timeline display and accompanying museum cases within the Miami County Courthouse.

Work Details
The selected vendor will be responsible for:
1. **Historical Timeline Display**:
- Collaborate with County representatives and stakeholders to research significant historical milestones relevant to Miami County.
- Develop design concepts including layouts, typography, graphics, and material selections suitable for the Courthouse’s historic interior.
- Fabricate the display using durable materials consistent with the Courthouse’s architectural character.
- Install the timeline display ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
2. **Historical Artifact Museum Cases**:
- Design freestanding or wall-mounted secure display cases for historical artifacts that are lockable, UV-protective, and climate-stable where necessary.
- Fabricate cases from high-quality materials consistent with the Courthouse environment and install them in approved locations.
Deliverables include conceptual design packages, historical research summaries, fabrication and installation of displays and cases, and user manuals for maintenance.

Period of Performance
The project is expected to be completed within 180 days from contract award.

Place of Performance
Miami County Courthouse located at 201 W. Main St., Troy, OH 45373.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must have a minimum of 5 years documented experience in museum-quality exhibit design and fabrication with a portfolio of at least 3 completed projects of similar scope within the last 5 years.
They must provide references from at least five clients for similar projects and comply with all applicable ADA accessibility guidelines, fire codes, and building regulations.
