Background
The City of Upper Arlington is seeking a vendor for the reconditioning and start-up preparation of the Northam Park Tennis Courts. This initiative aims to ensure that the tennis courts are in optimal condition for the upcoming season, adhering to industry standards set by the United States Tennis Court and Track Builders Association.
Work Details
The contract involves reconditioning nine (9) Har-Tru tennis courts (Courts 1-9). The work includes:
- Cleaning all courts of debris (leaves, sticks, etc.) and removing it from the premises.
- Cleaning loose and dead court material.
- Rolling courts and repairing any low areas.
- Applying new court material (provided by the City), with a recommendation of two tons per court.
- Brushing, watering, and rolling all courts as needed to ensure firm surfaces.
- Applying new line tapes and nails (provided by the City).
- Installing nets and center straps (also provided by the City).
- Adjusting or straightening net posts.
All work must be inspected by the Northam Tennis Manager or Recreation Superintendent prior to payment. The reconditioning/resurfacing work should commence as early in spring 2026 as weather permits and conclude no later than April 26, 2026.
