R&P - Fran Ryan Kitchen/Food Service

Background
The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department (CRPD) is seeking proposals for an exclusive food service contract at the Fran Ryan Center. This initiative aims to provide affordable and healthy meal options for the senior population. Established in 1910, CRPD serves as the local recreation agency for Columbus, Ohio, focusing on enhancing the quality of life through health and wellness initiatives. The Fran Ryan Center is a new facility designed to support senior programs and community engagement.

Work Details
The successful proposal must include:
- A varied product line with competitive pricing suitable for seniors
- Necessary equipment, supplies, service, and reporting

The food service operations should provide daily lunch options on weekdays, light snacks during non-peak times, brunch on Saturdays, and services during special events. The contract prohibits the sale of tobacco, nicotine products, or alcohol. The service provider must implement a recycling program and ensure all sales are recorded using a compliant point of sale system. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining non-City owned equipment and daily cleaning of the kitchen space.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year starting January 2, 2025, with an option to renew for an additional year.
