Background
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is seeking bids for a professional chef to serve as a public speaker for the Ohio Central School System. The mission of ODRC is to reduce recidivism among incarcerated individuals by providing educational opportunities and support. This contract aims to engage a chef who can deliver impactful messages that inspire and guide incarcerated individuals towards careers in the food industry, particularly those who have experienced life-changing positive transformations after prison.
Work Details
The selected contractor will provide speaking engagements, either in person or via video conferencing, lasting up to 1.5 hours each, including a Q&A session. The contractor must have over 10 years of experience as a professional chef and experience as a lead chef at a non-fast food restaurant. They are required to present at various correctional institutions including London Correctional Institution, Madison Correctional Institution, and Pickaway Correctional Institution.
The contractor must also provide a brief description of the topics covered in their speech and submit a complete bid document that includes their business name or individual name, contact information, service locations, cost per presentation, years of experience, at least one reference, and a completed/signed W-9 form.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and continue through June 30, 2027. There may be options for renewal by mutual agreement between the contractor and ODRC for up to five additional years based on satisfactory performance.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the following locations:
- London Correctional Institution (1580 State Route 56, London OH 43140)
- Madison Correctional Institution (1851 OH-56, London, OH 43140)
- Pickaway Correctional Institution (11781 State Route 762, Orient, OH 43146)
or any other agreed-upon sites.
Bidder Requirements
Offerors must demonstrate at least 10 years of experience as a professional chef and experience as a lead chef at a restaurant (not fast food). A valid state driver’s license or state ID with picture is required. Offerors must be able to present in person or via video conference (preferred platforms are MS Teams or Webex).
All bids must include specific documentation such as business name or individual name, contact details, service locations willing to provide services to, cost per presentation, years of experience, at least one reference, and a completed/signed W-9.
