Description

This proposal is to provide the City of Columbus, Department of Finance and Management, Facilities Maintenance Division with an formal contract to purchase Pest Control Services for facilities under the purview of the Facilities Maintenance Division. This service is to effectively control and/or eradicate insects, rodents, vermin, (rats, mice, roaches, ants, silverfish, crickets, centipedes, water bugs, bed bugs, and fleas) plus other pests not specifically listed in this contract from the locations as listed in the proposal. The service is accomplished through the application of chemical and/or non-chemical pest control methods and/ or traps. The methods employed require responsible pest management with the least possible hazard to people, property and the environment. See attachment for locations. Online Bids only. Background
The City of Columbus, through its Department of Finance and Management, Facilities Maintenance Division, is seeking bids for Pest Control Services. The goal of this contract is to effectively control and/or eradicate various pests including insects, rodents, and vermin from facilities managed by the division. The services are intended to ensure a pest-free environment that reflects civic pride and maintains the integrity of city properties.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive pest control services including inspection and treatment for pests such as rats, mice, roaches, ants, silverfish, crickets, centipedes, water bugs, bed bugs, and fleas. Treatment methods may include chemical and non-chemical approaches as well as traps. Specific tasks include:

- Application of dusts, baits, and exterior treatments to accessible voids (e.g., switch plates, electrical outlets).
- Full treatment service extending at least three feet from exterior walls in all directions.
- Intensive preventive treatments in high-risk areas like locker rooms and kitchens.
- Regular surveys for infestations with written reports to the City on conducive conditions for pest breeding.
- Compliance with federal, state, and local pesticide laws.
- Monthly or bi-monthly service schedules during regular business hours (7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) with provisions for emergency services within 24 hours at no extra charge.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and will continue until May 22, 2025.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various facilities under the jurisdiction of the City of Columbus as detailed in the proposal attachment.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding pesticide use. They must also provide proof of certification for pest control technicians. The contractor is required to maintain insurance coverage naming the City as an additional insured and must provide a current workers’ compensation certificate.
