Background
The East Branch Ohio River Interceptor (EBORI) Extension project is initiated by the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati, Ohio. The primary goal of this contract is to separate combined sewer overflows (CSOs) associated with CSO 432 and CSO 489, thereby improving the city's wastewater management and environmental compliance.
The project aims to enhance public health and protect local waterways by reducing pollution from combined sewer overflows during rain events.
Work Details
The contractor will perform sewer separation work that includes:
1. Installation of approximately 4,700 linear feet (LF) of storm and sanitary sewers ranging in size from 12-inch to 48-inch diameter using open-cut methods.
2. Installation of approximately 300 LF of 42-inch storm sewer via trenchless installation.
3. Installation, modification, or removal and replacement of approximately 50 manholes, including one with outside drop connections and one with an inside drop connection to an existing manhole.
4. Remodeling or removal and replacement of inlets as necessary.
5. Relocation of various local utilities as required for the construction activities.
Period of Performance
The contract period is expected to commence upon award and will extend for a duration that aligns with the completion of the specified work tasks, which may span several months depending on project complexity and weather conditions.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed in the City of Cincinnati, specifically along West 7th Street and other designated areas related to the East Branch Ohio River Interceptor extension project.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all applicable standards, orders, regulations, and permits including but not limited to the Clean Water Act and Federal Water Pollution Control Act.
Bidders are also required to obtain necessary permits such as cut/fill permits; roadway permits; MSDGC special wastewater discharge permit; railroad agreements; and any local government permits as needed.
