Dnr Forestry Mulching And Clearing Services

Background
The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) on behalf of The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is soliciting bids for forestry mulching and clearing services at Wildlife Areas throughout Ohio. The goal of this contract is to manage and maintain the health of these areas by cutting, mulching, and mechanically chipping woody vegetation. The work must comply with state and federal regulations regarding rare or listed species.

Work Details
The contractor will provide forestry mulching and clearing services which include: cutting, mulching, and mechanical chipping of woody vegetation in various wildlife areas. The contractor must manage all awarded work units simultaneously without service disruption. All costs must include materials, equipment, qualified labor, logistics, and personnel transportation. Specific tasks include:

1. Clearing woody vegetation less than 5 inches in diameter at breast height (DBH) by mulching in place;
2. Piling woody vegetation greater than 5 inches DBH at the field edge;
3. Conducting work during specified timeframes: July 15th - September 15th for <5” DBH or invasive shrubs; January 15th - March 1st for native vegetation >5” DBH;
4. Attending an annual kick-off meeting to review expectations;
5. Developing a detailed work plan including proposed schedules and cost estimates by May 1st annually;
6. Photographing areas before and after work completion;
7. Managing unscheduled services as needed with prior agency approval.

Period of Performance
The contract is effective from an undefined start date until April 30, 2026, with potential for renewal at the discretion of the contracting agency for up to an additional 48 months.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various Wildlife Areas throughout Ohio as identified in the solicitation documents.
