Dayton Correctional Institution Catholic Services

Background
The Dayton Correctional Institution (DCI) is part of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. The institution seeks to provide religious services to incarcerated individuals through the hiring of a Catholic Chaplain. The goal of this contract is to ensure that Catholic inmates receive spiritual guidance and support in accordance with their faith.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following duties as a Catholic Contract Chaplain:

- Conduct weekly Catholic mass.
- Provide weekly Catholic Catechism/Faith Enrichment.
- Administer the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick at least annually.
- Conduct Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) weekly and additional times during Lent.
- Provide general pastoral care including consulting on religious issues, grief care/memorial services, crisis pastoral counseling, and visitation with incarcerated individuals.
- Plan and coordinate special services for Christmas and Easter.
- Attend an annual Religious Service Meeting (mandatory).
- Make referrals to appropriate services.
- Distribute religious literature.
- Assist other chaplains in their duties.
- Conduct specialized ministry services including pastoral care in special units.

Compensation includes specific rates for each service provided, with a total contract not exceeding $15,685.00.

Period of Performance
The contract term will commence on an agreed date and continue until either fully performed or terminated by either party with appropriate notice.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Dayton Correctional Institution located at 4104 Germantown Pike, P.O. Box 17249, Dayton, Ohio 45417.

Bidder Requirements
The contractor must affirm understanding and compliance with Executive Order 2019-12D regarding the prohibition of offshore services. Background checks (LEADS) are required for any individual providing services within the correctional facility. The contractor must also maintain all necessary business permits and licenses as required by law.
