Background
The City of Broadview Heights is initiating the Broadview Road Corridor Improvement Project. This project aims to widen the roadway and enhance the streetscape along Broadview Road between Royalton Road and Akins Road. Work Details
The selected engineering firm will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
- Consulting with the City to propose a public gathering area with a memorial-style fountain and a large brick monument sign.
- Surveying and providing a site plan.
- Widening and realigning the corridor based on traffic study recommendations.
- Proposing a multipurpose concrete sidewalk on the east side of the roadway.
- Installing decorative street lighting.
- Providing public benches and landscaping.
- Installing ODOT type 6 combination concrete curb and gutter.
- Modifying/replacing existing storm sewer systems.
- Proposing decorative red brick crosswalks.
- Providing electrical specifications for street lighting.
- Proposing an emergency signal near a new fire station.
- Coordinating utility pole relocations if necessary.
- Ensuring minimal disturbance to existing infrastructure.
- Submitting a full civil plan set stamped by a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio.
- Assisting with construction funding procurement.
- Conducting progress meetings twice monthly or as requested by the City Engineer.
- Preparing engineers' estimates and material specifications.
