Woodlands 1 Apartment Renovation

Background
The State University of New York at Old Westbury is seeking sealed bids for the Woodlands 1 Apartment Renovation project. The work is to be completed within 120 days after the date of notice to Proceed. The project involves encouraging minority business enterprise participation by contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Work Details
The work includes performing demolition and installation of new partitions, doors, bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinetry, and counters, as well as necessary electrical and plumbing work to make a functioning residential apartment at Woodland Hall 1. The awarded contractor is required to supply all materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary for the construction.
The main features of the work include disconnecting and relocating existing gas lines, layout and construction of new wall partitions, providing plumbing and electrical for new fixtures, and installing new finishes such as doors, hardware, cabinetry, countertops, paint, tiles, vinyl base molding, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, power and data receptacles. The contractor is also responsible for providing specifications of all fixtures for approval prior to purchase and installation. New kitchen and bathroom appliances are also required to be furnished and installed by the contractor.

Period of Performance
The contract must be completed within 120 days after the date of notice to Proceed. The project schedule is four months following award, contract, and insurance approvals.

The project will be performed at SUNY Old Westbury in Old Westbury, NY.
