Background
The Hudson Valley Developmental Disabilities Services Office (HVDDSO) is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the renovation of the bathroom at the West Clarkstown IRA located at 329 West Clarkstown Road, New City, NY 10956. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary renovations to improve the facility's functionality and ensure compliance with state regulations. This project is classified as a public work contract under New York State law, which mandates adherence to prevailing wage requirements.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Demolish existing flooring down to the subfloor, and remove walls and ceiling in the shower area down to bare studs, including removal of vanity and toilet.
2. Install two-piece floor drains (floor drain and bathtub drain).
3. Install a barrier-free shower pan in the shower area.
4. Sheetrock the ceiling in the shower area with moisture-proof Durock or equivalent and paint it flat white.
5. Replace the toilet with a new Gerber Viper 1.28gpf two-piece compact elongated Ergoheight toilet in white.
6. Replace shower body using T13420 Delta trim kit with Delta R10000 series valve body as per provided drawings.
7. Apply an epoxy floor system that includes:
a) Redgard waterproofing membrane on plywood subfloor;
b) Sherwin Williams 5115 mortar blend aggregate base sloped to floor drains;
c) Consultation with HVDDSO project manager before applying epoxy floor covering;
d) Application of Sherwin Williams Resuflor Aqua 3460 epoxy flooring on top of mortar base and extending 6 inches above finished floor along base of walls;
e) Use of flakes in epoxy and textured non-stick surface.
8. Install Durock on wall studs in shower area and Z-channel abutting lip of epoxy coating; install Transolid rigid wall panels (5x8 sheets) supplied by HVDDSO from Z-channel to ceiling using silicone for adhesion and caulking at joints; cover all wall surfaces with Transolid panels.
9. Replace vanity in kind, including faucet and new supply and drain lines.
Period of Performance
The work must be completed within 30 days of contract award.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate at least two years of relevant experience on prior projects of similar magnitude. All staff working at the project site are required to sign an attendance sheet for record purposes, including a separate sign-in sheet provided by Maintenance Department staff during mandatory site visits scheduled for November 12th or November 13th, 2025. Vendors must also provide certificates of Liability Insurance and Worker’s Compensation Insurance upon contract award.
