Background
SUNY Old Westbury is seeking bids for a qualified website design and development agency to provide ongoing support and maintenance for their Drupal website, www.oldwestbury.edu. The website serves as the primary marketing and communications tool for prospective students, parents, and donors. The goal of this contract is to ensure the website remains up-to-date, user-friendly, and compliant with current web standards and SEO best practices.
Work Details
The selected vendor will be responsible for:
1. Analyzing current site’s content types, blocks, taxonomy, user roles & permissions, views, theme, contributed modules, navigation structure, etc., and making suggestions for improvements.
2. Keeping core and contributed modules up-to-date.
3. Designing/implementing new modules identified for future use.
4. Ensuring design modifications are fully responsive on various screen sizes and orientations, compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA standards, and cross-browser compatible in modern browsers.
5. Managing Apache Solr search functionality.
6. Diagnosing and fixing performance issues to ensure usability across various systems and browsers including IE 11, Edge, Chrome, Safari, Firefox on Mac and PC devices as well as tablets and mobile devices.
7. Providing automated testing services.
8. Ongoing consultation with the university community.
9. Providing all necessary technical documentation including security requirements such as access control for editors and managers along with necessary security training and recommendations.
Period of Performance
The proposed duration of the agreement is three years, covering fiscal years 2025-2026 through FY 2027-2028.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed in the Pantheon environment utilized by SUNY Old Westbury.
Bidder Requirements
The firm must be a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) with a goal of 0% set aside for SDVOB participation. There are no specific goals set for Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation.
