Waste Water Treatment Plant & Collection System Improvements

Background
The Village of Interlaken is requesting bids for the construction of improvements to the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Collection System. The project aims to enhance wastewater treatment capabilities and reduce inflow and infiltration in the sewer system, aligning with the village's commitment to maintaining effective and environmentally responsible wastewater management.

Work Details
The project consists of two parts:

Part (1) involves replacing the existing trickling filter treatment system with a membrane bioreactor treatment system, which includes a fine screen, ultraviolet light disinfection, and post aeration. Additionally, a new sludge processing system will be implemented, including a submersible sludge pump station/force main, repurposing of sludge holding tanks, sludge drying beds, an open-air building, and necessary site work. This part also includes the demolition and decommissioning of the existing WWTP.

Part (2) focuses on rehabilitating sewer manholes and sanitary sewers to mitigate inflow and infiltration issues. Bids are requested for three contracts: Contract 1 for General Construction, Contract 2 for HVAC & Plumbing, and Contract 3 for Electrical work.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed until project completion, with bids due by July 1, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted at the Interlaken Waste Water Treatment Plant located at 8369 Main Street, Interlaken, NY 14847.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Section 220-I of NYS Labor Law and provide a Certificate of Registration as part of their bid. There are specific participation goals for Minority/Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) set at 30% and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOB) set at 6%. All bids must include a security deposit of five percent (5%) of the base bid amount.
