Background
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the replacement of the roof at the LT-7 Mess Hall located in the Palisades Region.
The existing roof is approximately 6,180 square feet and requires replacement due to its age.
The goal of this contract is to ensure a safe and functional roofing system for the facility.
Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Removal of existing shingles;
2. Wood repairs with in-kind lumber, approximately 500 linear feet;
3. Removal of skylights, framing in openings, and sheathing flush with existing deck;
4. Installation of ½” plywood sheathing over the entire roof deck;
5. Application of ice and water shield on edges and in valleys, with tar paper on the remainder of the roof;
6. Installation of new brown drip edge;
7. Installation of GAF starter shingles and architectural shingles in Charcoal color using specified roofing nails;
8. Proper flashing installation around chimneys, vents, and other penetrations, including new rubber flashing boots for plumbing vents and electrical mast pipe locations;
9. Coordination with asbestos abatement as necessary.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence on March 10, 2025, and conclude by May 31, 2025.
