RFP-testing of lead based paint, asbestos and radon

The City of Amsterdam is requesting proposals from a contractor/firm qualified to perform lead-based paint testing, asbestos testing services, and radon testing services in compliance with state or federally funded community development programs.
On 11/13/2023, the City of Amsterdam was awarded grant funding of $500,000 through The New York State HOME Program. This funding will be utilized for the rehabilitation of ten (10) owner-occupied units to bring them up to code. The New York State HOME Program is administered by the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HTFC) and uses federally allocated HOME Investment Partnership Program funds to expand the supply of decent, safe, and affordable housing within the State. The NYS HOME Program funds activities to rehabilitate housing and provide assistance to low-income homeowners through partnerships with counties, towns, cities, villages, private developers, and community-based non-profit housing organizations.
The purpose of this request for proposals is the procurement of services in relation to this housing rehabilitation program that will provide assistance to income eligible residents of Amsterdam. The selected consultant/firm will be expected to work with City staff, consultants, and grant applicants.
