RFP Professional Landscape and Architectural Design -Peck's Pond

Background
The Village of West Haverstraw is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or firms for professional landscape and architectural design services aimed at improving the Peck's Pond Recreation Area. This project is federally funded in part by Rockland County through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The goal is to enhance the recreational area along the east shoreline of the pond.

Work Details
The improvements to be made at Peck's Pond Recreation Area include:

1. A sculpture garden that represents the diversity and family life within the Village, with a conceptual idea of a 'Circle of Life.'

2. An 'Instagram wall' approximately 9 feet high by 12 feet wide, celebrating contemporary West Haverstraw families, with the proposal required to identify an appropriate location and design (the mural will be designed by others).

3. Landscape and site improvements including amenities such as benches and other landscape features to enhance user comfort and experience.

4. Additional items that may be suggested by the Village Board or the Village’s Design Review Committee.

Period of Performance
The contract term is set for 1 year.

The contract will be performed at Peck's Pond Recreation Area, located at 130 Samsondale Avenue, West Haverstraw, NY 10993.
