Description

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), the owner and sponsor of Republic Airport, in conjunction with AvPorts LLC, the operator of Republic Airport, is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to supply two (2) New Electric Zero-Turn Mowers. AvPorts invites qualified vendors to submit proposals based on the details within this request.

Copies of the RFP may be obtained by contacting Ms. Judi Zalewski at (631) 386-6109 or are available at the Airport, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00 pm.

Sealed proposals must be received by, on, or before 4pm EST on March 3, 2025 at 7150 Republic Airport, Room 216, Farmingdale, NY 11735. Each vendor must provide three (3) copies of their proposal.

Questions or clarification regarding technical specifications listed within this request for proposal must be sent in writing to Victor Cerami, Maintenance Manager by email to victor.cerami@dot.ny.gov no later than 4pm EST on February 14, 2025.

Background
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), in collaboration with AvPorts LLC, the operator of Republic Airport, is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to supply two (2) new Electric Zero-Turn Mowers.
The goal of this contract is to enhance the operational efficiency and maintenance capabilities at Republic Airport, located in Farmingdale, NY.

Work Details
The contractor will provide two (2) Electric Zero-Turn Mowers that meet the following specifications:
- Commercial Grade, Electric, Seated, Zero-Turn Mowing unit.
- Each mower must have rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries with a minimum capacity of 17 KWH and include a battery charger.
- The drivetrain must consist of two electric motors (one for each drive wheel) and electric transaxles capable of achieving a minimum ground speed of 10 mph.
- The mower deck should be made from a minimum of 8 GA material with adjustable cutting heights and a cutting width of at least 60 inches.
Each deck must have three spindles, each powered by its own electric motor rated at a minimum of 3 KW.
- Rear tires should be radial turf tires while front tires must be smooth with caster fork tubes.
- The seat should be high back with suspension and the unit must feature a foldable ROPS (Roll Over Protection Structure).
- A display screen showing alerts, blade engagement, and battery life is required along with an LED beacon installed on top of the ROPS.
- Additional options include providing an extra full battery set for each unit, off-board charging option, fast charging option, spare parts kit (blades, wheels), and an operator/driver fan kit.
A warranty period of five years is also required.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and delivery is expected within one week after receipt of order. Proposals must be submitted by March 3rd, 2025.
