Background
The City of Batavia is seeking bids for asbestos removal as part of its Citywide Housing Rehabilitation Program. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe removal of asbestos-containing materials from a residential property located at 42 Kingsbury Avenue, Batavia, New York. Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Review the Pre-Renovation Asbestos Inspection Report prepared by Stohl Environmental dated March 3, 2025.

2. Remove approximately 9 square feet of asbestos-containing repair tar from the chimney, repair areas, and roof penetrations. The removal must comply with New York State Industrial Code Rule 56 Section 11.6, utilizing wet methods to prevent fiber release. The work area must be prepared according to specified regulations, including sealing openings with flame-retardant plastic sheeting and ensuring proper signage is displayed.

All waste generated during the project must be legally disposed of at an approved landfill within ten calendar days after completion.
