Description

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), the owner and sponsor of Republic Airport, in conjunction with AvPorts LLC, the operator of Republic Airport is receiving sealed bids to purchase a New All-Wheel Drive Heavy Duty Dual Engine, Cab Forward, 18' Runway Snow Broom and Options. The vehicle shall include a 4 x 4 all-wheel drivetrain and is to be delivered with a pendant arm mounted 18' broom attachment.

Copies of the RFP may be obtained by contacting Ms. Judi Zalewski at (631) 386-6109 or are available at the Airport, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.

Sealed proposals must be received before 4:00 pm EST on 6/27/2025 at 7150 Republic Airport, Room 216, Farmingdale, NY 11735. Each vendor much provide three (3) copies of their proposal.

Questions or clarification regarding technical specifications listed within this request for proposal must be sent in writing to Victor Cerami, Maintenance Manager by email to Victor.Cerami@dot.ny.gov no later than 4pm EST on 6/13/2025.

Background
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is the owner and sponsor of Republic Airport, collaborating with AvPorts LLC, the airport operator. Work Details
The contract involves the purchase of one (1) unit of a New All-Wheel Drive Heavy Duty Dual Engine, Cab Forward, 18' Runway Snow Broom. The vehicle must include a 4 x 4 all-wheel drivetrain and be delivered with a pendant arm mounted 18' broom attachment. Key specifications include:

- Designed for snow removal with a minimum GVW rating of 50,000 lbs and an approximate wheelbase of 164 inches.
- Compliance with applicable FMC SR and FMVSS quality/safety standards and FAA Advisory Circular 150/5220-20A.
- Front-mounted attachments, an air-ride cab, ergonomic controls, and safety features such as grab bars for easy access.
- Auxiliary engine powering the broom head must be Tier IV EPA compliant with a minimum output of approximately 500hp.
- A complete hydraulic system compliant with SAE ARPSS64 standards is required for all positioning functions.

The delivery of the equipment is required within 300 calendar days after receipt of order.

Bidders must be factory authorized dealers for the proposed equipment and have at least five years of experience in building or distributing similar equipment. They must maintain a full-service facility within fifty (50) road miles of Republic Airport and provide twelve (12) hours call-out service on a 24/7 basis during winter operations. Additionally, bidders are required to meet Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) goals of 12% and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) goals of 18%.
