NYS OPWDD-Staten Island DDSO intends to procure service to replace a defective boiler (per the attached scope of work) pursuant to its discretionary purchasing authority.

Background
The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (NYS OPWDD) is seeking to procure services to replace a defective boiler at the Staten Island Developmental Disabilities Services Office (DDSO).

The agency's mission is to support individuals with developmental disabilities, and this contract aims to ensure the facility has a functioning heating system. This project falls under NYS Public Works, which mandates adherence to prevailing wage laws.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove the existing natural gas-fired steam boiler and replace it with a new similar boiler.

Specific tasks include:
1. Removal of the old boiler (Model GSA – 300) with specifications including an input of 299,000 Btu/Hr and output of 247,000 Btu/Hr.
2. Installation of a new natural gas-fired steam boiler, ensuring connections to existing chimney, steam lines, and return lines are made according to industry standards and building codes.

The work must be completed within 30 days of contract award, and all site clean-up must be conducted daily.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be completed within 30 days from the date of contract award.
