Invasive species control at Woodlawn Beach State Park. This project involves chemical control of the following invasive species: Black Locust, Common Buckthorn, Common Reed, Glossy Buckthorn, Honeysuckle spp. and Knotweed spp. See attached scope of work.

Background
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYSOPRHP) is soliciting quotes for invasive plant control at Woodlawn Beach State Park. The goal of this project is to manage and control invasive species that threaten the local ecosystem, specifically targeting various woody species.

This initiative aligns with the agency's mission to preserve and protect natural resources while enhancing public enjoyment of state parks.

Work Details
The project involves chemical control of the following invasive species:
- Black Locust (Robinia psuedoacacia)
- Common Buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica)
- Glossy Buckthorn (Frangula alnus)
- Honeysuckle spp. (Lonicera spp.)
- Knotweed spp. (Reynoutria japonica)
- Common Reed (Phragmites australis).

The contractor will perform a one-time service that includes:
1. Foliar Application: Herbicide applied directly to leaves using a backpack sprayer.
2. Mechanical Removal and Foliar Application 1: Cutting and bagging target species in July, followed by foliar treatment of cut stems after about a month.
3. Mechanical Removal and Foliar Application 2: Herbicide application followed by cutting dead stems two weeks later.

The total area for treatment is approximately 8.52 acres, with specific acreages designated for each method:
- 1.48 acres for foliar application
- 0.06 acres for mechanical removal and foliar application 1
- 0.04 acres for mechanical removal and foliar application 2.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025, and conclude on November 15, 2025.

Woodlawn Beach State Park, S-3580 Lakeshore Rd, Blasdell, NY 14219, Erie County.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have certified DEC applicators and provide documentation of performance on at least three similar projects. There are no set-aside certifications required for this contract.
