Professional Services for the Preparation of the South Main Street Brownfield Opportunity Area Nomination Study

Background
The Town of Eden, located in Erie County, New York, is seeking to retain a Consultant or team of Consultants to provide professional services for the development of a Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) Plan. This initiative is funded by the New York State Department of State (DOS) and aims to analyze existing conditions, identify development opportunities, and assess the reuse potential of parcels within the proposed BOA. The project focuses on key sites that can act as catalysts for the overall redevelopment of the area.

Work Details
The Consultant will oversee and coordinate the development of a comprehensive BOA Plan for an approximate 83-acre area that includes 3-4 potential brownfield sites. Key tasks include:

- Analyzing existing conditions and conducting a market study to identify issues and opportunities within the study area.
- Collaborating with community organizations and private property owners to promote sustainable uses.
- Defining a vision and goals for the area with input from stakeholders.
- Creating a master plan that incorporates analyses and stakeholder input, articulating goals for revitalization and economic prosperity.
- Outlining specific strategies for revitalization, including fostering economic activity, improving connectivity between key sites, enhancing workforce development opportunities, and supporting mixed housing developments. Additional details are provided in an attached work plan.

Period of Performance
The contract term is set for 15 months from the date of award.

The work will be performed in the Town of Eden, Erie County, New York.
