Background
The City of Canandaigua is seeking bids to remove the existing HVAC system and install new heat pumps at the Canandaigua Police Department. The project aims to replace inefficient air conditioning units with more energy-efficient heat pumps to serve as the primary heat source and provide climate control for the 24-hour manned facility.

Work Details
The bidder is required to provide air-to-air heat pumps and supporting materials to replace six existing 5-ton AC units with more energy-efficient/sustainable heat pumps. Additionally, proposals for replacing the existing 75-gallon, 80% efficient water heater with a high-efficiency/sustainable option are requested.

The work also includes removing two existing 80% efficient furnaces and installing a back-up heat source as an emergency heat source if temperatures fall below rated operating temperature of installed heat pumps. The bidder is responsible for rental of all heavy equipment required to place equipment on the roof, confirming that the current roof can handle the load of new equipment, initial power-up, calibration/balancing of any equipment, and providing suitable barriers and warnings to keep unauthorized people out of their work area. The work will be limited to weekdays between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Period of Performance
The bid opening is scheduled for May 23, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Hurley Building, with anticipated contract award on June 6, 2024, and substantial completion by October 28, 2024.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the City of Canandaigua Police Station located at 21 Ontario Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
