Paving Bid

Background
The Village Board of the Village of Saranac Lake, New York, is soliciting sealed bids for the installation of pavement to be supplied and hauled by various government municipalities throughout the Adirondacks.
This contract aims to facilitate paving projects for the Village of Saranac Lake and the Town of Harrietstown, ensuring that local infrastructure is maintained and improved.

Work Details
The contract includes the installation of asphalt pavement, specifically Type 7F Top Course and Type 3 Binder Course.
The bid will be based on a daily rate for installation, which includes labor and equipment such as a paver, paver operator, two screed men, a dump man, laborer, roller, and roller operator.
The local municipality will provide all materials and trucking from the plant to the job site, as well as flagging operations and necessary traffic control devices.
The typical paving depth will be 1.5 inches compacted for Type 7F Top Course and between 2.5 to 3 inches compacted for Type 3 Binder Course.
The following municipalities are participating in this bid: Village of Saranac Lake (working hours Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM) with specific tonnage requirements listed for various streets including Ampersand Ave (1130 Tons Binder Course), Edgewood (185 Tons Type 7F Top Course), VanBuren (219 Tons Type 7F Top Course), among others.
Additionally, bidders must account for mobilization and demobilization costs to the job site.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence during the paving season following the bid opening on April 22nd, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily take place in the Village of Saranac Lake and Town of Harrietstown within Essex and Franklin counties in New York.
