Background
The Finger Lakes DDSO is soliciting bids for an Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM) Abatement and Rebuild project at the Ovid IRA located at 7166 Main St, Ovid, NY 14521. The goal of this project is to remove hazardous materials and renovate the stairwell area to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations. This is a New York State public works project, requiring adherence to prevailing wage laws.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Remove and dispose of approximately 800 square feet of asbestos-containing wall plaster and lathe system from specified walls, ensuring that ceiling plaster remains intact except for one area on the second floor.
2. Catalog, remove, and salvage baseboards, casings, and crown moldings as necessary to access plaster.
3. Carefully cut plaster edges to create clean lines for drywall installation by the general contractor.
4. Remove all batt and pipe insulation within walls during abatement.
5. Remove and dispose of approximately 34 square feet of asbestos-containing ceiling plaster and lathe system from designated areas, ensuring that blown-in insulation above the ceiling is also removed. Install critical barriers above the ceiling after plaster removal.
Period of Performance
The work is to be completed within 120 days of award, with a contract term extending thirty (30) days after project completion.

The contract will be performed at Ovid IRA located at 7166 Main St, Ovid, NY 14521.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide their New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) registration number along with a Certificate of Registration at the time of bid submission.
