Operation of a 60-Bed Skilled Nursing Services Program within the Coxsackie Regional Medical Unit

Background
The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYSDOCCS) aims to procure the operation of a 60-Bed Skilled Nursing Services Program within the Coxsackie Regional Medical Unit (RMU).

The agency is responsible for the care and custody of incarcerated individuals statewide, ensuring their health needs are met in compliance with community standards and regulations. This contract seeks to provide 24/7 management and staffing for the RMU, aligning with NYCRR Section 415 for Nursing Homes.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive services including:
- 24/7 management and staffing of the 60-bed RMU;
- maintaining necessary staffing levels;
- monitoring staffing patterns;
- conducting weekly administrative meetings;
- implementing a Quality Improvement Program;
- managing admissions and discharges;
- providing hospice care;
- wound care management;
- risk to fall program evaluations;
- patient education;
- staff education services;
- peer review processes;
- medical records management;
- pharmacy services oversight;
- occupational/speech therapy services;
- registered dietician services;
- infection control measures;
- social services support;
- safety services documentation and review; and
- patient services coordination.

All operations must comply with applicable laws, regulations, and DOCCS policies.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on or about January 1, 2025, and will continue through December 31, 2030.
