On Call Construction Inspection Services

Background
The City of Long Beach is seeking to retain the services of a professional engineering firm to provide on-call construction inspection services for various ongoing Department of Public Works projects. The goal is to ensure that these projects adhere to specifications and standards of good workmanship.

Work Details
The contractor will provide on-call construction inspection services, which include:
- Detailed inspections to ensure construction conforms with approved plans and specifications.
- The inspector must be present at the construction site whenever work is being performed or deliveries are received.
- Maintenance of a detailed diary documenting inspections, delivery verifications, quality of materials, and work performance.

Specific projects may include:
- Replacement of sanitary sewer systems including main lines and connections.
- Replacement of potable water systems including mains and hydrants.
- Improvements to stormwater systems including drain lines and catch basins.
- Rehabilitation of street lighting systems, including replacement of lights and poles.
- Pavement replacement with asphalt composite over recycled concrete aggregate.
- Installation of masonry elements like gutters and sidewalks, as well as landscaping tasks such as tree removal and sod installation.
- Development of traffic maintenance strategies during construction operations.

Period of Performance
The contract term is for 365 days, with the consultant expected to start work within ten (10) days after notice of award. The proposal includes up to 180 days of construction inspection services within this period.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in the City of Long Beach, New York.
