Background
The project is for the replacement of the Oakland Valley Road over Neversink River (County Bridge 82) in the Town of Forestburgh, Sullivan County, New York.
The County of Sullivan is the owner and is undertaking this Federal Aid Project to enhance infrastructure and ensure safety.
The work site extends approximately 300 feet from each end of the existing bridge and aims to comply with NYSDOT Standard Specifications, finalized on September 1, 2024.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means necessary for the completion of the work as specified in the plans.
Key tasks include:
- Install a temporary single-lane bridge with temporary signals including Eden Road.
- Demolish the existing bridge superstructure and all substructures.
- Construct two new integral abutments to seat elevation and two new piers.
- Place stone armoring around new substructures.
- Install a new galvanized steel superstructure.
- Place a composite concrete deck and backwall/upper part of integral abutments.
- Construct new approach slabs and repave connecting approaches.
- Remove the temporary bridge and signals, grade, and seed slopes.

Period of Performance
The contract work will be substantially completed within 266 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, specifically from February 1, 2025, to October 24, 2025.
Final payment is expected by November 21, 2025.

The contract will be performed at Oakland Valley Road over Neversink River in the Town of Forestburgh, Sullivan County, New York.
