Background
The ConnectALL Initiative, announced by Governor Kathy Hochul in January 2022, aims to address New York State’s digital divide and transform the State's digital infrastructure. This initiative ensures all New Yorkers have access to reliable and affordable high-speed broadband internet service. The ConnectALL Office, which administers these programs, is housed within the Empire State Development (ESD). Work Details
The contractor, Schupps Line Construction, Inc., is tasked with inspecting and assessing the condition of selected segments of the conduit leased to ESD by the New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA). This contract represents the first phase of work necessary to prepare for the placement of fiber optic lines across the state as part of the Excelsior Broadband Network. The contract amount is not to exceed $992,521.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of one (1) year from the date of contract execution.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed in segments along the New York State Thruway.
Bidder Requirements
Schupps Line Construction, Inc. is a New York State Certified Woman-Owned Business (WBE) and has been performing work on the Thruway as a principal contractor for NYSTA since 2021. The contract includes goals for participation from Minority/Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs) at 30% and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOBs) at 6%.
