Niagara River HIPs-Invasive Vegetation Treatment 2026-2030

Work Requested:
The contract work involves:

• Selective herbicide application to treat invasive plant species at six habitat improvement project (HIP) sites located along the Niagara River and Lake Erie in Erie County, NY, over the period from 2026 to 2030.
• Mechanical trimming of tree branches at one designated site in 2026.

The contractor will be required to follow a project schedule for invasive vegetation control efforts throughout the contract duration.

The New York State Power Authority (NYPA) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) Q26-7757EA.

Background:
This solicitation supports NYPA's ongoing efforts to maintain the reliability and efficiency of its operations by controlling invasive vegetation at key environmental sites.

Contract Requirements:
Bidders should be firms specializing in vegetation management, with demonstrated capability and qualifications to perform selective herbicide applications and mechanical trimming as specified. Bidders are encouraged to present qualifications for any or all phases of the project. The contract may be fulfilled through a subcontract, joint venture, or co-production arrangement. There are no Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) contracting goals for this procurement.
