Scope of Work Requested:
The Briarwood Community Library Renovation project involves comprehensive interior and exterior renovations of a community library located in Queens, New York. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
Who is Requesting:
Vernon Construction & Development LLC is seeking proposals from qualified MWBE (Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises) and SDVOB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses) subcontractors and suppliers for the trades listed above.
Background:
This project is commissioned by the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), with Verona Carpenter Architects serving as the Architect/Engineer. The project is governed by a Project Labor Agreement (PLA/Union), which must be executed by the successful low bidder and agreed to by all subcontractors of every tier.
Contract Requirements:
All bidders and their subcontractors are required to execute and comply with the Project Labor Agreement (PLA). Participation is specifically sought from MWBE and SDVOB firms for all relevant trades.
Instructions on Submission:
Subcontractor bids are due by Monday, May 11, 2026 at 5PM.
Access to bid documents and further procurement information is available through the Public Planroom.

- Applied fire protection
- Storefronts, curtain walls, and hollow metal doors/hardware
- Carpentry, drywall, framing, and ceilings
- Flooring, painting, tile, and stone
- Bathroom accessories
- Appliances, book depositories, and book theft protection
- Window shades
- Earthwork, exterior improvements, and utilities
