Metal Railing Rehab

Background
The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) was established in 1984 as a public benefit corporation by the State of New York. Its mission is to plan, design, develop, operate, and maintain Roosevelt Island, focusing on innovative and environmentally friendly solutions to enhance the residential community. RIOC manages various facilities and services on the island, including roads, parks, buildings, public transportation, and safety departments.

The goal of this contract is to rehabilitate Eleanor’s pier by demolishing existing railings and installing new ones.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the demolition of existing railings along Eleanor's pier and the installation of new railings. The work must comply with specifications outlined in Appendix C of the RFP. The contractor is required to provide a Gantt Chart showing project milestones and timelines for the entire lifecycle of the project.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award in October 2025 and will continue until all work is completed as per the specified timelines.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Eleanor’s pier located at 426 Main Street, Roosevelt Island, NY.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with New York State Executive Law Article 15-A regarding Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) participation goals of 30% and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) participation goals of 6%. Bidders are required to submit various forms including Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire, Iran Divestment Act Certification, Non-Collusive Bidding Certification, and others as specified in the RFP.

Additionally, bidders must demonstrate good faith efforts to utilize MWBEs and SDVOBs in their proposals.
