Background
The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking qualified Locum Tenens Staffing Agencies to provide psychiatrists for its Psychiatric Centers and satellite locations. The mission of OMH is to promote the mental health of all New Yorkers, focusing on providing hope and supporting recovery for adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbances.

The need for locum tenens psychiatrists arises from fluctuating staffing needs due to attrition and the competitive climate for psychiatric specialists, necessitating temporary staffing solutions to maintain care continuity.

Work Details
The selected Offeror will provide qualified Locum Tenens psychiatrists to OMH Psychiatric Centers and satellite locations. Services include Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry across inpatient, outpatient, full-time, part-time, and variable hours.

Specific responsibilities include managing over 180 engagements across OMH facilities, recruitment and retention of clinical candidates, compliance with credentialing processes, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Psychiatrists must be board-certified and have a minimum of three years post-residency experience. Duties include conducting psychiatric evaluations, prescribing treatments, participating in treatment teams, and maintaining documentation in compliance with OMH policies.

Period of Performance
The contract is for a term of five years with an optional five-year renewal.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various OMH Psychiatric Centers and satellite locations throughout New York State.

Bidder Requirements
The contract has a Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal of 16%, a Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal of 14%, and a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal of 6%. Vendors must demonstrate at least five years of experience in providing locum tenens staffing services, membership in relevant professional organizations (NALTO or NAPR), and compliance with state and federal regulations governing healthcare professionals.
