Generator Installation

Background
The Town of Schroeppel is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the supply and installation of a new standby generator system. This project aims to enhance the reliability of power supply for the Town Hall and Town Highway Garage, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

Work Details
1. Supply and Delivery of a new commercial-grade standby generator sized appropriately for the facility’s electrical needs.

2. Retirement of Existing Generator – The current generator will be retired in place; removal is not required, but disconnection is necessary.

3. Removal of Existing Transfer Switch – The existing automatic transfer switch (ATS) shall be disconnected and removed safely in accordance with all applicable codes.

4. Installation of New Automatic Transfer Switch – A new ATS shall be installed and integrated with the new generator system to support seamless operation and transfer of power.

5. Concrete Pad Construction – The contractor is responsible for constructing a poured concrete pad, including excavation, forming, reinforcing, pouring, and finishing.

6. Installation of New Generator – The generator will be installed in the alcove near the radio tower, including all electrical, fuel, and grounding connections.

7. Testing and Commissioning – The generator must be fully tested and commissioned post-installation to ensure reliable operation.

8. Training and Documentation – Provide user manuals, maintenance instructions, and onsite training for designated town staff.

9. Permitting and Inspections – Obtain all necessary permits and complete all required third-party inspections.

The contract term is set for 3 months.

Bidder Requirements
No Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside; bidders must provide proof of insurance and references from at least two similar projects.
