Background
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is the largest community college in upstate New York, founded in 1953. The college offers degree and certificate programs across three schools: Business and Liberal Arts, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). HVCC serves over 19,000 students and is recognized for its distance learning and workforce development initiatives.
The purpose of this contract is to engage a qualified vendor to perform preventative maintenance, testing, and repairs on emergency generators at both the Troy and Malta campuses.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the maintenance of emergency generators located at various sites on campus. This includes:
1. Inspection, testing, and servicing of diesel and natural gas emergency generators.
2. Repair and replacement of generator components such as engines, alternators, fuel systems, cooling systems, exhaust systems, control panels, and batteries.
3. Load bank testing and performance verification.
4. Emergency troubleshooting and repairs.
5. Coordination with HVCC to minimize disruption to campus operations while ensuring continuous emergency power readiness.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026. HVCC reserves the right to extend the contract for two additional one-year terms at its discretion.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Hudson Valley Community College's Troy campus located at 80 Vandenburgh Avenue, Troy NY 12180 and the Malta campus.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of five years' experience in commercial emergency generator maintenance and repair. Technicians must be certified by the generator manufacturer or recognized industry programs. The contractor must maintain a business location within a sixty (60) mile radius of HVCC's Troy campus.
