Educational Consultant for the Universal Prekindergarten Programs UPK

Background
The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking proposals from qualified sources to serve as an educational consultant for the Universal Prekindergarten programs (UPK). The goal of this contract is to support preschool teachers in implementing high-quality, developmentally appropriate instructional practices while ensuring compliance with program regulations.

Work Details
The consultant will be responsible for the following key tasks:

1. Collecting data from UPK sites through multiple visits to evaluate instructional effectiveness and compliance with regulations.

2. Observing classroom instruction and providing ongoing coaching and support to UPK teachers and administrators with evidence-based feedback.

3. Planning and delivering professional development sessions focused on early childhood instructional strategies, classroom management, curriculum implementation, and child development.

4. Assisting teachers in creating inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments.

5. Collaborating with program leadership to analyze classroom data and identify areas for targeted teacher and site support.

6. Providing summaries of visits through scheduled meetings and written reports to district leadership in a timely manner.

7. Maintaining accurate logs of site visits to support invoice claims.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract period is from the date of award until June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed within the East Ramapo Central School District located in Rockland County, New York.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess New York State Certification in Early Childhood Education (B-2) or Students with Disabilities in Early Childhood Education (B-2). They should have significant experience (minimum 3-5 years) teaching preschool-aged children in diverse settings, demonstrated experience providing professional development or instructional coaching, strong knowledge of early childhood curriculum standards, excellent communication skills, and the ability to model effective instructional strategies. Bilingual skills in Spanish and/or Yiddish are preferred.
