PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that sealed bids will be received at the Johnstown City Clerk's Office, City Hall, P.O. Box 160, 33-41 East Main Street, Johnstown, New York 12095 up to 11:00a.m on the 16th day of April, 2025 for the demolition and removal of the structures at 2-10 S. Perry Street and 7 N. Melcher Street

Prospective bidders may obtain copies of specifications and bid forms at the office of the City Clerk in City Hall, 33-41 East Main Street, Johnstown, New York. Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p m. Specifications and bid forms will be available by Wednesday, March 19th, 2025. All bids should be plainly marked DEMOLITION OF 2-10 S. Perry Street and 7 N. Melcher Street on the outside of the envelope. All bids should be returned intact either personally to the City Clerk and receipt obtained or by registered or certified mail with return receipt requested. All bids to be publicly opened by the City Clerk and the City Engineer on the 16th day of April, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the City of Johnstown conference room. Attention of bidders is called to the fact that the Contract includes acceptance of an immunity waiver as required by Sections 103-A and 103-B of the General Municipal Law of New York State, if awarded said Contract.

The City of Johnstown reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all bids.

Background
The City of Johnstown is seeking bids for the demolition and removal of structures located at 2-10 S. Perry Street and 7 N. Melcher Street. Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition and removal of the existing structures at both locations. This includes:

2. Conducting the work in accordance with New York State Department of Labor Code Rule 56 for asbestos projects.

3. Ensuring that all utilities are disconnected prior to commencing work.

5. Backfilling foundations with clean material after demolition.

6. Providing a copy of their current Asbestos Handling License with their bid, along with proof of adequately licensed staff for handling asbestos-related work.

7. Completing asbestos project notifications to the New York State Department of Labor within two weeks of receiving the Notice to Proceed from the City.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence as soon as practical after award and must be completed no later than August 31, 2025.
