Decant Basin and Sewer Line Replacement

Background
The City of Saratoga Springs, New York, is seeking bids for the Decant Basin and Sewer Line Replacement project. The Water Treatment Plant has been operational since 1867, with the existing building constructed in 1935. This project aims to replace the last piece of infrastructure from the original build, which is the decant basin.

Work Details
The project includes:
- Abandonment of the existing decant basin;
- Abandonment of some existing sewers downstream of the basin;
- Removal of an existing chain link fence;
- Removal of existing 20-inch thick walls to a five-foot grade;
- Filling existing pipes and manholes to be abandoned with flowable fill;
- Construction of a new 200,000-gallon concrete decant basin;
- Installation of new 10-inch sanitary sewer pipe, including manholes;
- All other items specified in the attached technical specifications and plans.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence within seven days of contract award and is anticipated to be completed by December 19, 2025.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid bond or deposit check for 10% of the total bid price. They are required to submit proof of insurance as outlined in the Risk & Safety Agreement. Bidders must also demonstrate experience in comparable work and may need to provide subcontractor details if applicable.
