D006384 Professional Design Services for Palisades Regional Maintenance Facility

Background
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for professional design services to create a new maintenance facility and improve the entrance of a separate storage facility within Bear Mountain/Harriman State Park.

The project aims to enhance the operational capabilities of OPRHP by providing modern facilities that meet current standards and sustainability objectives.

Work Details
The selected firm will lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive design services, including but not limited to:
- Schematic design, permitting, detailed design, and construction documents.
- Project management, scheduling, and organization of meetings.
- Development of site infrastructure at two locations:
1. **Anthony Wayne Recreation Area**: Design new buildings and related civil works on a currently under-utilized asphalt parking area.
2. **Merritt Bank Facility**: Design improvements to the entrance driveway and removal of the existing driveway only.
- Incorporate utility upgrades including sewer, water, electric, communications, etc., with extensive engineering controls for full build-out of the Palisades Regional Maintenance Facility.
- Ensure all program elements from the Trades Shop Programming Report are integrated into the site design. The gross building square footage is expected to be between 20,000-25,000 square feet with one story.

Period of Performance
The contract term is set for 48 months from the date of approval by the Office of the State Comptroller.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at two locations within Bear Mountain/Harriman State Park: Anthony Wayne Recreation Area and Merritt Bank Facility located in Rockland County, New York.
