Description

The State University of New York Maritime College (SUNY Maritime), seeks a vendor to provide the college with a Course Scheduling Software. Vendor should have at least five years of of higher education expertise in course scheduling and student support software that supports a broad range of goals, specifically positively influencing student retention.

This procurement is subject to New York State Finance Law 139-j &-k, also known as the Lobbying Law. Therefore, vendors are cautioned that the only permissible contact for this procurement is the individual(s) listed as a designated contact. Contacting any other individuals at the SUNY Maritime College in connection with this advertisement, may constitute a violation of New York State Finance Law. Failure to comply with this requirement can range from no contract award to debarment from sales to any New York State agency.

Vendors responding to this advertisement shall be required to complete and submit applicable documents related to Vendor Responsibility, New York State Finance Law 139-j & -k, and New York State's Tax Law Section 5-a.

Background
The State University of New York Maritime College (SUNY Maritime) is seeking a vendor to provide Course Scheduling Software aimed at enhancing student support and retention. Established in 1874, SUNY Maritime is the first maritime academy in the United States and has a mission to provide quality education in marine engineering and transportation. The college serves approximately 1,800 students and operates under federal agreements for training merchant marine officers. The goal of this procurement is to partner with a vendor that has at least five years of higher education expertise in course scheduling software.

Work Details
The awarded vendor will provide Course Scheduling Software that includes:
- Automation of course scheduling workflows to improve accuracy and reduce conflicts.
- An intuitive interface for users including students, faculty, and administrators.
- Integration with existing academic systems such as student information systems (e.g., Banner).
- Features for requirements gathering, system design, software development, testing, deployment, training, maintenance, and support.

Specific functionalities include:
- Time slot management
- Room allocation
- Instructor assignment
- Conflict detection
- Enrollment caps & waitlists
- Visual timetables for students
- Auto-scheduling capabilities using algorithms
- Reporting tools for administrative use
