Background
The State University of New York College at Geneseo is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to contract with a bus transportation company for a five-year period. The goal is to provide safe, reliable, and comfortable transportation for the College’s student-athletes, coaches, and staff during the academic years 2026-27 through 2030-31. Work Details
The contractor will provide bus transportation services including qualified drivers to transport student-athletes and staff from the Myrtle A. Merritt Athletic Center at SUNY Geneseo to various destinations as outlined in the Trip Schedule. The service includes approximately 174 trips, comprising about 114 full days and 86 half days of travel.
Buses must accommodate between 25 to 56 passengers and be equipped with amenities such as lavatories, heating and air conditioning, video capabilities, and Wi-Fi. All buses must be less than ten years old (2017 model or newer) and meet New York State Department of Transportation standards. Drivers must comply with Article 19-A of NYS Motor Vehicle & Traffic Law and possess appropriate licenses. The contractor is responsible for maintenance, repair of buses, and ensuring cleanliness.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence on August 1, 2026, and will last for five years.

Services will be performed primarily at SUNY Geneseo located at 1 College Circle, Geneseo, New York.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least five years of experience providing charter bus services and demonstrate satisfactory performance records. They must also have a NYS DOT BUSNET score of at least 90% for the years leading up to the contract start date.
Additionally, bidders are encouraged to meet diversity goals: a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) goal of 6%, Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) goal of 15%, and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) goal of 15%. Bidders must submit a Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire via the New York State VendRep System.
