Bid for Route 118 & Underhill Avenue Interchange Improvements

Background
The Town of Yorktown is seeking bids for the Route 118 & Underhill Avenue Intersection Improvements project, aimed at enhancing traffic flow and safety at this critical intersection. This project is part of the Town's ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and public safety. The contract will be overseen by Town Supervisor Edward Lachterman and Town Engineer Daniel A. Ciarcia, P.E.

Work Details
The contract includes various construction tasks such as clearing and grubbing, unclassified excavation, embankment, installation of drainage structures, milling and resurfacing of existing pavement, concrete sidewalk construction, curb ramp configurations, and installation of traffic control devices. Specific tasks include:
- Relocation of existing fire hydrants.
- Installation of three offset catch basins along Underhill Avenue.
- Construction of a new driveway including drainage structures.
- Six add alternates that include additional sidewalk construction, tree removals, milling and resurfacing limits, and pedestrian crossings.

The project also requires coordination with a separate contract for traffic signal installation at the same intersection.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by November 15, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the intersection of Route 118 & Underhill Avenue in Yorktown Heights, New York.
