Background
The City of New York, through the Department of Design and Construction, is undertaking a project to modernize and replace the vertical transportation systems at the Bronx Housing Court. This includes six elevators, two escalators, and fifteen platform lifts to ensure reliable service. The project aims to enhance accessibility and safety for users of the facility located at 1118 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10456.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Modernization of six (6) elevators
- Replacement of two (2) escalators
- Replacement of fifteen (15) platform lifts
- Associated architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work necessary for the successful completion of the project.

The contractor must ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards throughout the execution of this work.

This contract is subject to Special Experience Requirements and Community Hiring requirements. Bidders must comply with the Project Labor Agreement (PLA), which mandates that all contractors and subcontractors become signatory to this agreement. Additionally, participation in apprenticeship programs as per Labor Law § 222 is required.
