Background
The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) of New York City intends to negotiate a six-year agreement with Illumina Inc. for the purchase of essential testing products.
The goal of this contract is to enhance the capabilities of the NYC Public Health Laboratory in conducting clinical and environmental testing for various pathogens, including foodborne and waterborne pathogens, as well as drug-resistant bacteria and mosquito-transmissible viruses.

Work Details
The vendor will provide MiSeq Instruments, Nextera assay kits, reagents, equipment, and other necessary supplies.
This includes maintenance and services for the equipment.
The products will be utilized for detecting foodborne pathogens such as Listeria, Salmonella, STECs, waterborne pathogens like Legionella, drug-resistant emerging bacteria including Shigella and N. gonorrhea, and mosquito-transmissible viruses such as Zika.
These testing kits are designed to deliver specific and rapid results related to whole genome sequencing of viral and bacterial organisms.

Period of Performance
The contract is intended to span six years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the NYC Public Health Laboratory.

Bidder Requirements
Illumina Inc. has been identified as the sole provider of these required testing products.
Any firm that believes it can legally provide these goods is invited to submit an Expression of Interest directly to this RFI- EPIN 81626Y0812.
