500 Patroon Creek Data Center

Background
The New York State Unified Court System Office of Court Administration (OCA or UCS) is soliciting bids for the design of a datacenter in its existing office building located in Albany, NY. The goal of this Request for Bids (RFB) is to create a fully functional data center that meets or exceeds the capabilities of the existing datacenter. The awarded contractor will not be eligible to bid on subsequent solicitations related to the purchase and installation of datacenter equipment based on this design.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for designing a datacenter within a +/- 1,700 SF footprint, including layout, utilities, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and IT equipment. Specific tasks include:

1. Designing the datacenter layout and recommending appropriate systems and equipment.
2. Issuing design documents and schematics to OCA architects for necessary construction and equipment purchases.
3. Ensuring that the new design operates at least as effectively as the current datacenter.
4. Preparing preliminary designs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, IT systems, and providing specifications for all necessary components including UPSs, PDUs, cooling equipment with manufacturer details.
5. Consulting with OCA during the design process to incorporate feedback and ensure scalability for future requirements.
6. Designing a chiller-based cooling system with humidity control and airflow management.
7. Preparing power distribution designs that accommodate current power consumption needs while ensuring redundancy.

Period of Performance
The contract term is 18 months from the date of approval by the Office of the New York State Comptroller. The final design and reports must be completed within 45 days after contract approval.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at OCA’s existing office building located in Albany, NY.
